Here is your chance to introduce yourself and share a bit about your background, and why you are interested in the movement and want to be part of it.

I'll start.

My name is Tom, I've been following the movement pretty much since the start after watching Zeitgeist Addendum when it came out. I've been always interested in the technical aspects of using technology and in particular information technology to solve and improve social organization. I graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2004 with a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science and I have been working as a web developer ever since.

My true passion lies within the topic of genetic algorithm computation and model simulations, so when I became involved in The Zeitgeist Movement I had a revelation one day of combining my strong willingness to help the world by advocating the movement and its agenda with my passion of genetic algorithms and model simulations to start a project which can be described in the Zeitgeist Addendum movie as the AI system which will manage the technical aspects of social organization. The project is called The Zemerge Project and in short it is a computing project of applying genetic algorithms and social simulations in order to find optimality in social mechanics to help us make better social decisions. The project is still in its infancy but has gotten excellent feedback in the movement so far.

The Zeitgeist Movement for me represents a way for humanity to move forward using the scientific method at its core with a realignment of social values that align our society towards a more sustainable and saner future for humanity. I have meet many enthusiastic, passionate and intelligent individuals in person or online that are part of the movement and I am excited to see what we will accomplish in our lifetimes. To be part of something that has so much meaning and purpose for our collective future is something to be proud of and excited about!

I look forward to interesting, challenging and exciting times ahead!

- Tom

Budding Engineer

nemx18 — Mon, 02/21/2011 - 06:34

Hi :)

I'm a first year student at the University of Waterloo. I'm studying Systems Design Engineering, which to me seems like the perfect program to be in to get involved with the The Venus Project as a potential part of the Engineering/Design team.

I pretty much just got involved today, after I watched Zeitgeist: Addendum, which for some reason I had put off watching for the longest time. I was very inspired learning about TVP, as it seemed like the perfect place to focus my aspirations - changing the world significantly through technological advancement. Also, after finding out just how screwed up the "system" really is, I became even more motivated to do something, and this seems like the perfect place to start.

I look forward to future posts from everyone, and hope that this revolution will make a difference :)

Where i stand.

Jagrmari11 — Sat, 01/29/2011 - 02:13

My name is Jason. I have seen all the Zeitgeist movies and have become very interested in the movement. I can't say i'm much of an activist but frankly the global economic situation scares the crap out of me. We definitely need to change if we want a future, so i am more than willing to stand behind any individuals who wish to take a stand.
I had been doing a lot of research on the net about the corruption that exist with the government, banks, and the monetary system. Fortunately it doesn't take much to figure out where we were headed. My concern was, what can we do? And, who was leading the way? When a friend had sent me the link for the newest Zeitgeist release, i immediately sat and watched beginning to end with baited breath. Needless to say. Mr. Joseph has created a well directed description of the issues, the culprits, and the remedy. Big changes have to be made and change can be scary. In this case it's necessary.
I look forward to much more info from the movement and to contribute as much as i can. This IS our world, and we CAN fix it.

Regards
Jason

And my name is Jane

For many years, I've been researching and have been an anti-establishment type person. Since I can remember, always questioning the status quo and generally WHY. The many ideas and movements I have researched have a common thread running through them. In my opinion, Zeitgeist is one of only a few "movements" so far, that has momentum, a calm intelligent and logical approach, and real answers to a problem that is Global and intrinsically woven into the fabric of all institutions that man has created. I am drawn to the idea of creating a new reality, which is beneficial to all, not just the few. Without a healthy planet, man is doomed. However, man has the ability to create, which is what I am hoping to participate in. I am an idealist who has had the capitalist beaten out of me by experience. My conscience doesn't allow me to just exist and work at a job that violates all of my ethics and philosophies about life on this planet. It's a long story. I've learned that you can't beat the system, by using the system. You have to change the system by paradoxical action.

My Intro

nduncan — Tue, 10/19/2010 - 21:33

My name is Neil and I also started following the movement after watching Zeitgeist Addendum soon after it came out. I had not realized the second Zeitgeist (Addendum) had come out until I heard on the radio, 102.1 The Edge, Toronto rock station. They were talking about controversial documentaries, mainly the first Zeitgeist when someone called in and announced that Addendum had aired. Since then I have listened to most of Peter Joseph’s pod casts, watched hundreds of YouTube videos and discussed many different topics to many different people.

I am 21 years of age and a graduate of Conestoga College, in the Architecture – Construction Engineering Technology program. We all know that everything we buy in today’s society becomes obsolete, and in many cases through planned obsolesces. Well it is no different with buildings. Every building that has ever been built is only designed to last so long, and in most cases only 50 years and up to but rarely 150 years. That means major renovation or demolition will occur to every building. Think about it every 75-100 years if we magically moved everyone out of Toronto for about a year – year and a half (provided there were enough workers), in today’s society, it would be substantially less exceptive and less wasteful to demo all of Toronto all at once and rebuild.

The logic the Venus Project presence makes a great deal of sense to me, and it should for almost every person. The more research I do and the more I think about it, it seems to me that humanity is unevolving. We are becoming more selfish, jealous and violent, among many other things. We are not born this way, we are taught this way.

I am excited that I can be a part of this generation because it will be zeitgeist and Venus Project that people will turn to when things go from bad to worse. So please if you took the time to login and read a few of these member introductions post one yourself or post something else. Thank you.

Neil Duncan

Introduction

element — Wed, 08/04/2010 - 18:51

Hey :)

My name is Devon. I have been involved with the movement since January of 2009. I was first in contact with the Toronto group and felt it wise to start a more local branch. Since that time I have been in distant contact with the Toronto movement and developed aspects of the local movement on facebook as well as in partnership with Tom. Together Tom and I held a Z-day event in Kitchener-Waterloo at Wilfrid Laurier University. I hope that we can continue to meet and grow the core support for the movement to facilitate further outreach through education, communication and participation.

Much of what we assume to be necessary in society is not. I believe there is sufficient evidence provided by the movement and similar related sources that justify this outlook. Too much of our lives is spent working not for the betterment of the Earth but rather to maintain the structural integrity of a system leading towards its own demise. I believe we must focus our awareness to these issues and realize the massive potential of ourselves and technology to create abundance and better quality of living for all. It is not a question of money, it is a question of human resource. Money acts as the chains that stratify our opportunities, allow only an exclusive minority to have advantages we can all share. This is our goal. To create a shift in awareness and our values in order to recondition our values away from the profit motive and towards human/life concern. The movement is both practical and spiritual, guiding both technology and our values towards understanding the common bond that we shares on this Earth; recognizing the simplicity of our connectedness and oneness.

I am currently attending the University of Guelph as an undergraduate majoring in psychology with a specific focus on social psychology. Much of what is taught in the social sciences is kept out of mainstream knowledge which clearly identifies the divide between the political arena and knowledge of the sciences. The movements ideal, however radical they may seem have solid grounded scientific basis to them.

The transition can be self motivating. We would all like to know that what we spend our time working towards will be worth the effort we expend. The aim of the movement cannot fulfill that requirement any better, for it is the direction we would like to see for ourselves, our loved ones, this Earth and all the generations to come.

I will follow up. My name is

wmurray — Thu, 07/29/2010 - 22:39

I will follow up.

My name is William, I've been following the movement since the first Zeitgeist movie and got really interested in activism after watching Zeitgeist Addendum. I am interested in the cultural/psychological shift that the movement represents in response to global economics and consumerism as well as the present dysfunction that our current capital system creates. I graduated from the University of Windsor in 2003 and am working towards my Masters in Leadership at the University of Guelph.

I can echo Tom's sentiment that The Zeitgeist Movement represents a way for humanity to move forward using the scientific method at its core with a realignment of social values that align our society towards a more sustainable and saner future for humanity.

Looking forward to seeing what this KGC movement can accomplish!

William
